| NEWS IN THE POP MUSIC DEPARTMENT

CA-born singer/songwriter Colbie Caillat surged to popularity thanks to the strength of the songs on her MySpace page. Rolling Stone profiled her in October 2007 as among the top female MySpace musicians, and she subsequently reigned for four months as the site's #1 unsigned artist. Come check out her print music collection, Coco!
Music from the popular Enchanted movie is now available in easy piano format. The collection features an easy arrangement of Carrie Underwood's lovely "Ever Ever After" and five more great tunes from the popular Disney film.

In the wildly popular TV show on the Disney Channel, actress Miley Cyrus (daughter of Billy Ray) leads a double life, playing a mild-mannered 8th grader by day, and famous pop sensation Hannah Montana by night. This folio is now available in big note format.
Whether you're a karaoke singer or preparing for an audition, the Pro Vocal series is for you! The Hairspray collection contains the lyrics, melody, and chord symbols for eight hit songs from the Broadway musical. The CD contains demos for listening, and separate backing tracks so you can sing along. The CD is playable on any CD player, and also enhanced so PC and Mac users can adjust the recording to any pitch without changing the tempo! Perfect for home rehearsal, parties, auditions, corporate events, and gigs without a backup band.

| MEET STEFANIE KAVAS

Stefanie Kavas is the newest employee at The Music Box. She recently graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in Vocal Performance. At CSU she performed roles such as Angelica in Puccini’s Suor Angelica, the Countess in Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro, Frasquita in Bizet’s Carmen, and Mrs. Jenks in Copland’s The Tenderland. This summer, Stefanie will be traveling to Italy to attend the prestigious Operafestival di Roma, where she will play the role of the Second Lady in Mozart’s The Magic Flute! In order to raise money for this trip, she will be offering a voice recital on May 17 at 7:30 p.m. at Saint Catherine’s Greek Orthodox Church, located in Greenwood Village--what a great opportunity to hear local talent! Contact Stefanie at the store for more information.
Stefanie also teaches private voice and piano lessons. Stefanie also enjoys learning languages. In addition to English, she also speaks Greek and French fluently, and has studied Italian, Spanish, and German. When she’s not at The Music Box, Stefanie stays busy planning her wedding, which will take place next May.
